Re: First across the minefield!

It must be me having problems uploading images. Just tried sending you the image on Twitter and it's not having it so I'll add the link here.

Here it is marked on an Ordance Survey map. (Bit tricky to see it on Google).

Re: First across the minefield!

I agree on the bit about filming it with the trout scene. Even in the 80's, TV stations had a tendency to want to save money, and filming a scene to then go back and film another scene would not have gone down well with the people signing the cheques. The FKL scene wasn't a big spending scene, and ...

Re: First across the minefield!

The landscape that's used as the Falklands looks very much like a lot of the moorlands that are normally found in the very northern extremities of Derbyshire, especially in the Dark Peak around Bleaklow and Kinder Scout, but I don't think the production people would have gone anywhere as far north a...

Re: 'Not Many People Meet Big Baz' - Watch Now!

That it is... i spoke with Baz the other day and he's always up for fun.. may have to find a reason to get him back down here again.. Great idea. You could revisit some locations you've filmed previously (Barry's house, Star Inn, Knipton and so on) but this time with Big Baz in the passenger seat f...

Re: 'Not Many People Meet Big Baz' - Watch Now!

Hi Tim, Just watched the Big Baz video and it was brilliant. I've recently returned to watching all things AWP since I realised last week that it had been a year since the Newcastle convention. I wasn't able to make the Notts convention this year as I was on holiday, but I would have loved to have m...

Re: Convention 2014!

I'm not so sure it would, Big Willy. I guess it depends on how big we want to make it. The pub crawl had maybe 20-25 people, the cinema screening wasn't full - there were a fair few empty seats at the far end of the rows in the upper tier certainly - and the bus tours didn't fill up either. Ok, the...

Re: Next Challenge : Ally Frasers House

I have to say, Colin is an absolute ideal dream dinner guest. He was so happy to be talking about AWP. He pointed me in the direction of Roger Bamford to try and find out exactly where the Falklands was filmed. But there was no-getting near Roger Bamford on Saturday night towards the end of the even...

To the right of the house in the picture above there appears to be an annexe of some sort attached to the house, usually in the place where a garage might be, but in this instance it looks like a columned entrance in the gloomy light.

Poxeymoxey - so glad I took the plunge and bought a ticket. I'd have been kicking myself for not going.
