Re: Gary Holton - A Video Tribute

Super video. Hard to believe so much time has passed since he moved on. As a kid I remember hearing the tribute by Tim Healy before the final episode of series 2. For me, Auf Wiedersehen ended at his passing. It was never the same without him, even during the second half of series 2, with so many in...

Re: Action vehicle filming

It would be great to know if Studio 7 was used at all, as it is the only surviving studio. I know it was mainly used for game shows given its size, but it was also used for larger sets.

Re: Action vehicle filming

Regarding the old Central Studios; I am hopefully going to be visiting in the very near future. Does anyone here know if Studio 7 was used for any Auf Wiedersehen filming?

Action vehicle filming

Not sure if anyone has come across this before, but during a routine Auf-Pet search on Google, I came across this company http://www.actionvehiclesuk.com/home-old.htm who include Auf Wiedersehen, Pet amongst their many film credits. Based in Nottingham, they may have a tale or two about filming seri...

We paid a visit to Gary 'Wayne' Holton earlier today, and we left the red roses for him. RIP Gary.

Re: Home from home -Trip to ASDA

I recall visiting the ASDA used for filming (West Bridgford) on special shopping trips, particularly at Christmas. Brings memories back for me too, particularly the Trent Bitter cans, as I am not too far from Burton-on-Trent, and seeing the Ferry Bridge on the can was great. Some great episodes from...

Re: First across the minefield!

I live in Derbyshire and I seem to know of similar rock formations in north Derbyshire. I can't imagine that they are that far off the beaten track, and I know of somebody who does a lot of hiking in that area, so I'll ask him.

Bryan 'Arthur' Pringle

Bumped into Baconballs earlier today...RIP Arthur! Pop by http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cg ... =108821699 and leave him some virtual flowers. Bryan was a great actor, and his portrayal of Arthur 'Tiger' Pringle is legendary. And he's not doing lunches!

First across the minefield!

Not sure if this has been brought up before, but does anyone know the location used for the Falkland Islands minefield at the beginning of series 2? Seeing as production was moved to Nottingham, and from the scenery, I assume it to be Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire/Leicestershire? It looks like north De...

Re: What does Auf Wiedersehen, Pet mean to you.

Great writing, great characters, great storylines, great comedy, great entertainment. Auf Wiedersehen Pet (series 1 and 2) takes me back to childhood days. Its a bit of escapism and its quality entertainment. TV just isn't like that anymore!

Series 2 Customs Location - East Midlands Airport

Howay! New to this forum so I apologise if this has been brought up before now. We've been watching Series 2 on DVD recently and the scene where Wayne collects his BMW from Customs and Excise looks like East Midlands Airport. I live close by, and took a drive over last night. I am aware of a part of...
