Re: NEW Contender for Chatterley's

Hi all. Apologies if I ramble as usual, just my way. I have spent all week following this topic, examining every new 'maybe' on Google maps and Bing maps, and have spent hours scouring all these villages and roads on street-view. I have found many 'near' matches, and a couple of times have had a eur...

Re: Auf Wiedersehen, Pet set in 1980.

I don't think anyone on the cast or crew envisaged just how popular the show would be. To some of them it was just another job. So I certainly don't think that anyone would have imagined us lot on here dissecting it all line by line and scene by scene, location by location thirty years later, which ...

Re: Dennis and Oz layby FOUND!

Hi Tim. Just been watching your vids again, when I saw this post. Just wanted to say well done, and congratulate you on all the time and effort you put in keeping the series 'alive' for us hardcore fans. As each year rolls around it gets harder to believe that the first two series, and in fact the l...

Re: The Boys Ages

Hi all. Just been reading this topic and is something that has fascinated me over the years. I have a day off work, and for my own amusement really, I looked up the actors dates of birth, just to see how that fits in. Just thought I'd share it, so I am using 1983 as a date as that was when the bulk ...

Re: Fictional Dates

Thanks Dan. I agree with your order!
Amazing that Tim Healy and Gary Holton were the same age in real life!
Will hopefully get some other input. I know I'm being a bit picky, but these guys have been a part of my life for almost thirty years. Cheers...Pete

Re: Ally's villa.

I have it on my screen right now at HomeAway.co.uk
Pictures of the inside look just like what I always assumed was a set for inside the villa. I suspect a bit of jiggery pokery by the scenery department, in the same vane that we all wondered whether inside the Barley Mow was a set or not.

Re: Fictional Dates

Cheers Lee! Am looking forward to seeing that. So to digress from that briefly, to an easier question, involving time. I know how old the actors are/were, but how old are the characters meant to be? In 'Last Rites', Dennis makes reference to being ten years older than Neville, and Pat Roach said tha...

Re: Fictional Dates

Thanks folks for responding to my original questions. I just love this website and forum! I hope this topic can keep going a while, as I find it fascinating to get other peoples takes on it. So.....Series Two....all sat round in Barry's unfinished house looking at the pictures of Thornely Manor, and...

Re: Favourite Series..

Hi all. To me, the magic of series 1 and 2 will never fade. Both are totally believable in the way they are set. From the idea of traveling abroad in search of cash in hand work in series 1, to working for a crook like Ally Fraser in series 2, were really representative of how the country was at the...

Fictional Dates

Hi all. I know my questions may sound a bit daft, but what I'm trying to work out is when series 1 and 2 were meant to be set. To be more precise, in series 1, there are several references to the lads having spent six months together in the hut, but which months? In some scenes they are outside in T...
