Re: How Old Are You?

I'm 31, and I vaguely remember first seeing it in the late 1980s when my local ITV region, Grampian, repeated it in heavily edited half hour episodes. I first watched it properly on the Channel 4 repeats in 1995.

A teenage Oz at St James Park, watching in awe as Albert Bennett scores for the Toon.

Re: Worse Moments In Series 1? or series 2?

I feel uncomfortable with the scene in the hotel in series 1 when Wayne and Barry discover Dennis is in a room there.

I just wish they'd bugger off and leave him alone.

That's a heck of a change from video arcades, nightclubs and saunas.

Re: How often do you watch Auf Pet?

I used to try and watch it all at least once a year, but haven't for the last couple of years. I caught the end of series 2 and all of series 3, 4 and the special on Yesterday when it was last repeated, but it's not the same as the DVDs because of all the cuts for censorship and to fit in twenty adv...

Re: DVD disappointment

It did sound like they didn't really want to do it, and they were ill-prepared.

And they didn't seem to remember much about the making of the programme, but to be fair, as the writers they probably wouldn't have been too heavily involved in the filming.

Re: Auf Pet actors in other TV shows.

Tim Healy and Denise Welch were both in Coronation Street, but not at the same time.

According to IMDB, Tim was in it in one episode in 1976, and then again for a couple of weeks in 2006 as a different character.

I've never seen Spender, but from what I've heard, some of the magnificent seven were in it at least once.

Re: Music played in the show.

There's a Tears for Fears song on the radio in Series 2 which Kenny Ames turns off while the lads are working on the pool at Ally's villa, but I can't remember which one it is.

Re: Vauxhall Van adverts on Absolute radio

On a similar note, Timothy Spall voices a character in the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories called Barry, who has a Brummie accent. I'd like to think it's a nod to his character in AWP.

Yes. That's why Bomber is carrying Moxey over his shoulder in the scene where the hut burns down.

Re: Vauxhall Van adverts on Absolute radio

Those adverts have been around for a while. I had the same thought about them being based on Barry and Moxey.

There was also an advert on radio a couple of years ago about some new building regulations, and I'm fairly sure Tim Healy did the voiceover for it.
