Well, 'er indoors and the little one have gone down to the grandparent's for a week. The house is spick and span, the beers are flowing and I'm watching this episode. I'm not certain that it is my favourite episode but it is certainly up there in...
Macgowan had the big tool remember....
Nah, that was Oz!
From Monday 15th of July, we are going to dig deep, and pull this episode apart.
Instead of watching the episode as you would normally, look in the background, follow the extras, look for mistakes, try and date the filming of the episode, notice...
Reet, I'm starting the lot from the beginning! I never do this, and can honestly say I never have gone from start to finish...
Anyway I'm 6 minutes into S1E1, and noticed a couple of things. The crew used a Blue Citroen estate car for filming, we...
May take a while, but it's something I love, rating the best show ever. So here's my ratings. :)
10/10 If I were a Carpenter
10/10 Who Won the War Anyway?
08/10 The Girls They Left Behind
08/10 Home Thoughts From Abroad
Anyway back to this rapi....rating!
I would still give 'If I Were A Carpenter' 10/10 for its originality. Even now it's one of those episodes I can watch and never get bored of. It stands the test of time, hitting 33 this year and still top...
I started watching Series 2 from the beginning again, and I must say, I nearly had a tear in my eye at the beginning of this episode when the lads are still in Germany, the scenes from Series 1, not the 'newer tighter jeans on Barry bit'. Great...
This episode is almost 30 years old now, unbelievable to think that time has passed.
I still rate this as one of the finest episodes, and I'm hoping come Feb 21st at 9pm, that many of us will be throwing in the DVD, to celebrate?
This episode ranks high for me over all the series.
Before we get into all that "it's not as good as series 2..." Etc, I still think some of the later episodes are great. Well written, filmed to perfection and acted brilliantly.
Have to agree with the previous responses, it isn't just the location contrast claustrophobic Thornley Manor etc but the changes to the way the lads operate together .I guess there is naturally a lot more acting experience which shows as the...
I had to laugh when watching Last Rites, and seeing the crane driver who drops the pallet onto Bomber's foot is wearing a tie.
Very smart. Presumably he was straight off after work to find a young lady down the old town.
Although 'Private Lives' is my favourite episode, my favourite scene is from 'Last Rites'. Barry entering the hut with his burnt face.
*heavily German accented English* "You are very red"
I'm currently putting ideas together for some site updates and feel the Forum has a good feel for voting. We don't all agree on what's the best episode, so if we can rate an episode and add a small comment of what the episode means to them, I can...
Its amazing how Youtube copyright gets noted and notified, yet when it comes to ITV contacting us as a site theres sod all response..
Brilliant episode, especially the performances of Elphick, Nail and Healy. Shame they had to write Bomber out of this one as I would've loved to see him walk in as Magowan thumps Neville and goes after Barry.
And Neville and an Eric would've avoided a good thumping.
I love this episode, and watching Barry trying to put that Deck Chair up had me in tears last night.
I always thought that was a bit of a blooper cos when they went to work for Ali at the manor it was all legit hence the bother was Moxy and him having to get a new identity so Oz would have been paying income tax at that very time when Barry asked...
Picking your favourite ever episode of AWP is a hard task as I'm sure you'll agree, but if ever I was forced to choose I would say Another Country just edges it for me. So many quality moments and quotes all packed into one episode.
The reaction to Wayne explaining why Tiger threw them out always makes me smile.
For Series 2, it would have to be 'A Home From Home' its such a great episode.
I have lived out of the UK for many years, although I live here now, and this episode used to make me remember the UK like it was when I was younger.
Great episode, one...
Porn movies would certainly go out of fashion if people saw his antics with Aimes.
Utter genius! Cowboys is a fantastic episode, but I think this just pips it. The Oz and Mrs Chatterley scenes, especially the meeting in the Barley Mow, are classic exchanges. Oz's reaction to finding out that there's a divorce in the offing is...
