Noticed any 'Cock Up's' filming mistakes, continuity errors or something else?

'Series 1' Blooper

Post by Howard Radcliff » Fri Jan 25, 2013 6:39 pm

Hi All,

Not sure if this has been spotted before but it's a fantastic one I noted many years ago. It's a 'series' continuity blooper rather than a scene blooper.

In Series 1, Episode 3, 'The Girls They Left Behind', Neville is tuning Oz's radio hoping to find the Sunderland vs Liege game. He says "I've got something... listen... this is a match", meaning a 'football match'. Bomber is quick to respond saying "probably Moxy". This, I believe, is clear reference to Moxy's past as an arsonist. Neither Neville or Wayne pick up in Bombers comment.

Later, whilst Moxy, Oz and Bomber assess their future in Germany in the final episode of Series 1 (Episode 13 - When The Boat Goes Out), Moxy confesses he has a criminal record for arson and was in the nick for two years before he came to work in Germany. Bomber appears confused and asks "How did that come about Mox?”. Bombers clear surprise and inquisitive nature implies he did not know of Moxy's secret past as an arsonist despite his earlier comment in Episode 3!!!

Yup, boxing for me. Especially as it was when he heard the crowd roar. But 'good call' all the same. "Just a bit of fun Den !"

No good call, it can be heard as Moxey, and I had to think about what Bomber had said.

‘Auf Wiedersehen, Pet’, ‘Big Baz’ & ‘Tracy’..... I think I may have to admit defeat on this one! ‘ Boxing’ would certainly make more sense. Though having listened to it again, I can hear both now! Does anyone have the script!?!

In episode 1 "The return of the seven" i spotted two bloopers. When the lads are being herded to get there picture taken the lens cap on barry's camera is on off on off as the camera changes, secondly Moxey talking in the cell said he was suprised barry's letter arrived at all as it passed through 3 addresses before the prison recieved it. But when wayne and barry were talking at his house Barry said that Moxeys letter was returned marked not know at this address.

After reviewing this episode, Moxeys letter is not returned, it's Oz's letter.
Barry says....'Moxey was always no fixed abode, and Oz's letter was returned not known at this address'
