SERIES 1 – EPISODE 7 – PRIVATE LIVES – MISSPELT GERMAN SIGN

In series 1 episode 7 ‘Private Lives’ Barry and Wayne escape the hotel through the staircase window. Just as they’re about to jump, you can see the German sign reading ‘WARENANMAHME’.

It is clear this sign should read 'WARENANNAHME’ meaning the ‘acceptance of goods’ or 'receipt of goods’. I wonder if someone in props misspelt this one!

I stand to be corrected if anyone can read German!

I'm very impressed with the amount of mistakes that fans have spotted - something I'm not very good at. I would never of guessed that this sign was actually a prop! I wonder how many other props I've been looking at and just taken it as real? It's amazing the amount of detail that goes into the programme - such as adding a false Victorian tower on Thornely Manor which I took as real until only a few years-ago.

I wonder if the internal hotel shots were Elstree as well? The hotel corridors seem pretty real.

I must admit, watching now you can see how it goes from plush Hotel to stark stairway, it doesn't blend very well, know why now.
