Anyone with other 80s/90s tv obsessions?
I have a penchance for Miami Vice, working my way through the box set, loved the music ,clothes and the story lines,i'ts like watching a 1 hour movie each time, some big name guest stars appearing too, the likes of Phil Collins ,Bruce Willis and Ben Stiller to name a few.

Only a couple from the 70s for me really - Porridge and Whatever Happened to The Likely Lads

I need some slippers, and some soap

The three series of The Royle Family were brilliant. The Christmas specials of the last few years were not so good, though. It's definitely one of the classic comedies of the last twenty years.Lou wrote:Also the Royle Family is brilliant!

Early doors is another good one but I can't remember if it's in the 90's or noughties.

Yep, and it's great. My dvd of it gets a regular airing. Dunno if they'll ever release the other two series - would be nice but the show went a bit leftfield after the first series and he ends up running a nightclub, trying to buy a chippie etc - a bit more off the wall but still good entertainment.Wayne Turkin wrote:Next eighties purchase for me will be , Big Deal on DVD, anyone remember that? How about Give Us A Break? The snooker/hustler combo with Robert Lindsay and Paul McCann - that was a cracker too, although it only had enough legs for one series and a xmas special.

Two familiar faces crop up in Big Deal as well - Pringle running a newsagents and Terry Leather as Jan's neighbour

Re: Anyone with other 80s/90s tv obsessions?
I did used to like Big Deal and Give us a Break, but I haven't watched them since they were first aired. Never really noticed them on any of the cable channels, and I'm not fussed enough about them to look for them on DVD. My stepmother used to be a big fan of Big Deal, and I got Ray Brooks (Robbie Box)'s autograph once for her when I served him at Victoria station.
Another programme I liked from the late 80s was The Paradise Club

I watched the first episode of Watching on YouTube this evening. I think I might get the DVD box set of it.
