I was addicted to 'Cracker', Robbie Coltrane. Helped me in a huge way when my first marriage went doon the Frank. Had been going to counselling but the first 3 episodes of 'Cracker' had me well sorted !

It's surprising how well they stand upHedley Irwin wrote:I did used to like Big Deal and Give us a Break, but I haven't watched them since they were first aired. Never really noticed them on any of the cable channels, and I'm not fussed enough about them to look for them on DVD.

Game On is one of my favourite 1990s comedies. Like most other people, I preferred the first series with Ben Chaplin, but the later two series are OK. Like with Pet, I try and watch Game On all the way through at least once a year.
My favourite scene is where Matthew is telling Martin about how he 'killed' his father. It's 22 mins 29 seconds into this:

Early Doors is the noughties but good comedy doesn't date and it could quite easily have been made in 1983, 1993 or 2003!
Watching is fantastic and take note of who the brother-in-law is, its our friend Hedgehog!
I'm a big fan of Lovejoy and On the Up too.

I loved it when that boxer came round and intimidated Matt, took the piss out of him and slapped his head on the way out. Laugh every time at that scene, the way Matt tries to keep his cool and pretend he's not shitting his shorts is screamingly funny.

They won't show it now because it would be too racist.
Also the Turkish student was Kemal.

There's a couple of episodes of the hated Love Thy Neighbour on youtube. I can see why it gets so much stick but there's two key things its critics are clearly ignoring: One, the black guy not only gives as good as he gets but invariably outsmarts the white guy and 'wins' the episode, and two, it's actually very funny
