I find it quite sad that my kids will never know how great Saturday morning TV used to be, and they'll never know how fantastic 'Going Live....' was.

Forgot already?

My Saturday mornings consisted of a trip to the local picture house (cinema for the younger ones) for the ABC minors matinee.
Starting with a sing song and followed by such treats as episodes from Flash Gordon, Casey Jones, Lone Ranger, Laurel And Hardy, The Three Stooges and Popeye.
With no parental supervision, all hell was let loose for a while when the lights went down with popcorn and other things thrown around.
Occassionally you might get a torch light in your face and asked to leave.
What joy!!

Grange Hill.
The Banana Splits (I played air guitar when the theme tune came on).
Grotbags.
Worzel Gummidge.
Why Don't You.
And that bloke who was with a little boy with loads of badges on his blazer that I later found out was his wife. Forgot the name.

The only time I was in front of the TV as a toddler was whenever Thomas or those Mr. Men cartoons with Arthur Lowe were on.

If anyone has Amazon Prime, it's chock full of classic 80s kids stuff. Round The Twist is on there....without my pants.

Without your pants? Oh, it was the eighties, where anything goes. Hope it wasn't screening on a Sunday.

It was a famous episode of Round the Twist. I thought you and Tracy would know all about it like being Aussies...
