Recommend Me Something To Watch!

Post by Auf Wiedersehen, Pet » Fri Dec 30, 2016 3:20 pm

Ok, I am pretty bored with TV now, nothing to watch and nothing on the horizon.
So, recommend me something, even if it's from the 1960's, I'll give it a bash!
I like all kinds, from 60's to 80's and 90's. I like stuff like Bugs, Dempsey & Makepeace, The Prisoner....

I love The Walking Dead and I Am Legend, so I asked a Facebook page I follow to recommend me something similar. They told me to watch 'The Quiet Earth' which is an Aussie film on You Tube. Have to say I loved the feel of it. Bloke wakes up and everyone has vanished! He's stark bollock naked in the first few minutes, so that was er....different. Anyway, if you like TWD, I Am Legend and stuff like that, you might like it but it doesn't have Zombies.

So, what'll it be then?

The Quiet Earth....

Try this for summat different
'What We Do in the Shadows'
It's a 2014 New Zealand mockumentary horror comedy film about a group of vampires who live together in Wellington.
Might not be everybodies taste but I liked it. Been told it's on 'Showbox'

The original Goodbye Pork Pie. Very entertaining and unique. A good insight into NZ in the 1970's and lots of quirky stuff.
Sleeping Dogs is another excellent NZ classic (it helped launch Sam Neill).
Minor quibble squire but The Quiet Earth is a NZ movie( not Aussie).

I was hoping one of the NZ lads would notice my deliberate error in saying it was Aussie.....

One of the best movies I've seen was a French film called The Intouchables. I've got it in my library next to Black Beauty and The Stud

This Country on bbc3 is really funny. Supposed to be a docu drama about youths in rural Britain. It's hilarious

I tried watching 'Withnail and I' the other day. I bought it about a year ago and thought I'd give it a bash. I know it's a bit of a cult classic, but I ditched it halfway through, I found it dreadfully dull. I thought it'd be my sort of film but I could and probably will lib it in the bin and never set eyes in it again.

I'm watching 'This is Us' at the moment, really liking it. Apart from a few dramas I don't have much time now to watch owt! Glad of the repeats of AWP on Yesterday at the moment!
