Re: Other great UK programmes....
The only one that rivals Pet for me is Steptoe.
And Fawlty I suppose (bet I'm not the only one who knows that off by heart too).

Re: Other great UK programmes....
Give me British programmes over American programmes any time. After Auf Pet, Minder is the greatest TV show created in my opinion. So between these two nothing else gets much of a look in, but I would like to start getting into some other British shows that are similar to AWP and Minder, I'd love to be able to go back to the 70's/80's and watch TV back then, any suggestions would be welcome.

Re: Other great UK programmes....
One from eighties I used to really like was Big Deal.
Bought the dvd though and it doesn't seem quite as good as I remember.
I'll still get series 2 & 3 though if they ever get around to releasing them.

Minder
The Professionals
The Bill (around the time of Burnside)
Sweeney
Bottom
The Inbetweeners
All passable, but not even close to AWP.
If they're on tv I'll watch but not ones to watch over and over.

Wheeler Dealers is a great programme with one flaw, they seem to give off the idea that the man in the street can pick up something like a MK1 Golf GTi for £500 and make it look a minter and still make a profit on it.
In reality it just doesn't work like that, garages charge a bloody fortune for labour these days even to do the slightest job on a car, I've just paid £141 today to have a wheel bearing done, £72 of the bill was Labour and VAT!
I've never met the guys but I've heard them, as my stand at the NEC Classic Motor Show was directly opposite their Stage last year!
