Re: Up norf
Up north, from where i come from (Hull) we have potato (with a bit of herb) patties.
So Pattie & Chips is something different here. But we also do fish patties in some establishments.
Also, we have Chip Butties. Breadcake filled with Chips...So if i ever go anywhere outside East Yorkshire i always ask for a chip butty and see the confused look on the servers face.
But also place's like Wakefield don't call them breadcakes, they call them teacakes
Which to me is something different all together.

Oh chip butties I know about those not sure they are "up norf" specific. Could be and I would never have know maybe just summin my mum passed on. yeah Patties were were fish in the middle, potato around the fish and batter on the outside. yeah Hulls getting there, mum came from between there and Newcastle so officially she was not a Geordie I guess.dan slider wrote:Up north, from where i come from (Hull) we have potato (with a bit of herb) patties.
