The German dialogue in Series 1

Post by Hallwood » Wed Nov 02, 2022 3:11 pm

I was thinking the other day, would Dick and Ian have written the German language dialogue in series one, or would they have had to get a translator/German native speaker to translate it for them? Same with the Spanish in series two?

Good question. I'm not even sure any of the actors were German were they? The guy playing Helmut was Dutch I think. Maybe the builder Oz has the tangle with?

Anyway I don't know but at a guess they probably wrote the script in English and got it translated to German. Only a guess though.

The detective who rants at Neville in The Accused was played by Gunnar Möller, who was a German.
