The Magnificent Seven?

Post by Brown Eyed Boy » Mon Mar 03, 2014 12:22 pm

I know this is the title of a western with Horst Buchholz and Steve McQueen... By the way, one of the few westerns I can stand watching. 8-)

But where's the connection to AWP here? I have noticed that the seven main characters on AWP are sometimes referred to as the "Magnificent Seven". Why is that?

There is NO connection to AWP from the film itself as it was way before awp was even thought of.. its AWP that connects itself to the film in light of the fact that there are 7 lads.. all comparing themselves to the Magnificent 7 in the film... No connections officially at all.. just comparisions..

I'd like to add that the notion of the lads as the Magnificent Seven doesn't come up until series two so you might not have seen it yet.

'the Magnificent Seven' was my favourite film when I was a lad. Any co-incidence that AWP became my favourite TV show?!?

Didnt they have an argument about who was going to be Charles Bronson or Steve McQeen?

They compared themselves to a character in the film (eg; Wayne as Horst Bucholz, Dennis as Yul Brinner, etc..) Who did Oz compare himself to??...
