Back in 1959, John Sturges the director of the 1960 Western, 'The Magnificent Seven' was looking to fill the roles of the lead characters in the movie. What is not known is that Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Horst Buchholz, James Coburn, Brad Dexter, Robert Vaughn and Charles Bronson were not the original actors cast.

Sturges instead originally went for seven unknown actors. Little is known of the identity of these actors. Looking back through the records only four things is known.

1) They were all very heavy drinkers.

2) The Director could not understand a thing they said.

3) They were all sacked due to this and a bit of the drinking and the fact that one of them said, "Who want's to save them anway, I mean, their only Mexicans"!

4) The only evidence of work is this rare badly worn photograph taken in 1959 that has led to accusations that it's a forgery!

We may never know ......
