edit: my curiousity suitably piqued, I had a look elsewhere and it turns out that not only did Catherine Rabett (Carole Pringle) have a role in The Living Daylights (which as a Bond nut I'm stunned I've never spotted, and I still can't place her) but according to wikipedia she also once dated Prince Andrew
Catherine Rabett did indeed date Prince Andrew, pre Pet I believe. She lived/lives in West Norfolk (where I was brought up). Saw her coming out of the HSBC bank in Downham Market many years ago.

I've just watched Sean's Show, starring the late Sean Hughes, and the policeman Andy Hateley from Series 3 was in it.

I've seen three AWP faces in a film and TV series I've watched over the past couple of days. One of the main characters in kitchen sink classic Saturday Night and Sunday Morning is played by Bryan Pringle. Bryan was very good in that role as the diffident and put-upon Jack, a real contrast to the grouchy old landlord in AWP.

Watching Blott on the Landscape yesterday, who should pop up but Jimmy Nail as a demolition worker. An extra from AWP - the guy who's asleep and sitting beside Oz in the taxi after the Sunderland game - is in a couple of pub scenes with Jimmy in the former series.

Patrick Godfrey (Oxlade) also appeared in Blott on the Landscape as a villager obsessed with keeping his lawn immaculate. He was the type would compose a strong letter to the Times (or at least phone the Old Bill) if anyone dared to tread on his precious blades of grass. Sadly for him, Jimmy's character, who's been fed strong drink by Blott all night, whacks the garden lover with a demolition ball as he tries in vain to protect his patch of green perfection.

Another series I have on DVD is The Gentle Touch and I recall seeing James Bate (Hallwood) in one episode as a Spanish doctor, with Brigitte Khan appearing in another ep as a lady of the evening.

John Bowler had a lead role in Watching as Liza Tarbuck's boyfriend and Catherine Rabett was in Minder as a fitness instructor.

Posh bloke specialist David Neville appears in an episode of George and Mildred as an apparently respectable acquaintance of Jeffrey Fourmile who turns out to be a crooked car dealer.

As mentioned in an earlier post, Su Elliot is in one of the Minder episodes featuring Ray Winstone as Arnie. I was in a restaurant a couple of years back when Ray appeared at the next table but I didn't say owt!

The actor who played the vicar in the second series of AWP, Roger Rowland, co-starred in the first series of Sweeney forerunner Special Branch, however the character was dropped and Roger was replaced by Patrick Mower. I must admit I'd never heard of brass rubbing (the polite kind anyway) before seeing Barry visiting the church to indulge his hobby. I can just picture Oz foregoing a few pints to bugger about with a big bit of paper and some crayons.
