Like a lot of you, I thought I was in a minority being an avid fan of AWP, but recently types in those magical three letters, and as we all say, the rest is hostiry. I was working nights when series three was shown, and took my little "Toy Telly" as Oz would have said, to work to watch it. I really enjoyed series three, and was just glad to see it back. Not religious, but i began to think there was a God. I know a lot of you think that the series may have been diluted from the first two, but times change and I think each series, like each show, has its own merits. The two things that seem to have everyone thinking are the inclusion of Wyman, to replace (although how could anyone) the great Gary Holton, and the recruiting of Neville as a spy. We can't change it and they are now entrenched in AWP history (folklore?) I think the reason it's loved so much is that people can see the relevance of it even today.
Like many of you, it's virtually on all the time in our house, and I am lucky in the fact that my Missus is also a great fan. Brilliant series and brilliant site Lee. Best to all of you AWP fans
(By the way, I was at a pub quiz the other night, and the theme was music and railways. There was a question about 9 to 5 by Sheena Easton, which was called Morning Train in America. The quiz master offred an extra point to anyone who could sing Oz's version. Nearly everyone piped in with "She gans to graft and comes hooom agin!) The place erupted. That must show the popularity of the show?

After alot of searching...........basically watched it all again in 2009 and thought wow, the acting writing and characters were superb. So after watching them all again I thought it was just nostalgia but no it was just ace (80's). Have watched it sooo many time now it's getting repetitive dare I say. Maybe need to go cold turkey for a while!!!!!

I used to visit the old Paul Armstrong site back in the day and am a lapsed member of the yahoo groups, still get the emails!

Recently visited Birmingham and saw the demolition of the old Central TV Studios so I've been spending a lot of time online looking at old pics of Broad St and Lenton Lane and stumbled across the site that way.
