Re: Bad acting? What bad acting?
Vicky when she's showing Christine round Ally's house is terrible, I cringe every time I hear her mis-deliver the line "She wouldn't hear of it.... and she's not gonna give up the money either" - and then her amateurish "Gotta go, seeya lay-duh".
Mind you she'll go far with legs like hers.
I just admire them, I've never measured them.

Re: Bad acting? What bad acting?
For someone who has never read Jimmy Nails book what was the crack between Jimmy and Gary Holton. Was there a fall out of some sort

Not really a fall out.
Jimmy got annoyed because Gary was hellraising, and they had a TV Show to make, so he threatened to smack him one. It did help Gary according to Jimmys book. I have it, and when I have time, I will type up the part where Jimmy talks about it. Its a great read.

What about 'Neville's mam' talking to Brenda in 'Law & Disorder' before them two hacks come into the villa? When 'she' is intelligible talking about the vicar or summat she sounds like Eric Idle as a woman in Monty Python or something!!
I've been to this club, plays some great sounds; AC/DC, Styx, Van Halen....\m/

The fella who played Helmut was generally good, apart from bouncing that football with exaggerated keenness and looking immensely slappable.
But the Golden Raspberry really has to go to the godawful Douglas for his glacial delivery. "We ... live ... here ... (I go and make a cup of tea at this point) ... and you ... (lose the will to live) ... durnt." Awful, but at least memorably so, which is better than being mediocre I suppose.

From now on I'm sticking to a worse type of bird.

I always though hazels colleague at the mitushi conference was quite chronic. Don't know if she was supposed to be Valerie nelson or Theresa Macintosh. Oh, so you're barraaaay! With that wobbly head.

Re: Bad acting? What bad acting?
I always wondered if Ally's forced laughs were him despairing at the ever worsening situation he was in.
I agree about John Bowler, he was creating a thoroughly awful persona to Howard, a man who clearly has fallen from grace, but he (in his mind) is still higher than the likes of Dennis, Oz et al in the pecking order. I for one would have loved to have known the dirt Ally has on him. A rich seam untapped IMO.
Bowler is good at the lower upper middle class snob. Just look at Watching when he plays Brenda's wealthy brother in law.

I thought Arthur Pringle's daughters acting was appalling.

Me too, then again she's what's known as a very tasty bird, so she don't have to ...Ally Frazah wrote:I thought Arthur Pringle's daughters acting was appalling.

Nev was speaking to someone he thought was German so I always think he's just doing the "slow dumb English for foreigners" that stupid Brits do abroad
Re: Bad acting? What bad acting?
The girls they left behind - I think the scene where Oz's and Dennis's wives are in the kitchen, the is a horrible pause when they're brewing up. It makes me cringe a bit that scene
