Jimmy Nail question on Mastermind

Post by dan slider » Thu Dec 27, 2012 7:29 pm

Did anybody see it?
incidentally, a few years ago someone's specialist chosen subject was Auf Pet.

I never actually watched it, did anybody else?

That's strange...

Stan Hey asked me the same question, and wondered if it was me.....
He has told me to try and track the person down, but I wouldn't know where to start...

It was maybe 4 years ago now, somebody mentioned it on the old old forum.
I wouldn't know where to start either. Maybe just an email to bbc general enquiries?

Ah I remember watching that Mastermind when some lad choose Auf Wiedersehen Pet as his subject. He was obviously an expert on the subject but I can also remember him passing on a few - more likely because of nerves as he just seemed to went blank. Love to watch that again. I think it was on the tv about 5 year-ago or more.

Tim - A question was asked which was "who Plays Leonard Jeffrey Oz Osbourne in aufpet"

RHill, yes it must of been 5 years back, it would be good to see it.

I've just had a quick look online, and You Tube has some episodes, but I am damned if I'm going to look through each one...

I have looked at Mastermind Episode Lists, and the ones I have looked at don't have the Auf Pet episode, as it tells you specialised subjects etc...

I will keep looking though....

It might be worth posting on the BBC Forums, could catch someones eye.

Lee, the Mastermind programme where the contestant’s chosen subject was shown on 12 July 2004. These were the question asked (verbatim) :-

Question 1, What is the full name of the character known as Bomber?

Question 2, What was the name on the tattoo that Neville ended up with while he was drunk in Dusseldorf?

Question 3, Which female character appeared in both the first and second series and was played by Sue Elliott?

Question 4, Which of the cast members broke his foot during filming of the first series which was reflected in the script when the character had a pile of bricks falling on
it?

Question 5, When Hedley’s coffin was being sent back to England what did Oz try to smuggle inside it?

Question 6, Besides Barry who was responsible for the fire which led to the hut burning down at the end of the first series started when petrol from Barry’s motorbike was ignited by a careless drunken act?

Question 7, What object did Moxey have that persuaded the other six to let him stay in the hut?

Question 8, Which actor played Colin the deserter from the British army who cadged a lift while the lads were on there fishing trip?

Question 9, Oz was exceedingly proud of having met which country music star showing people a picture of the 2 of them together?

Question 10, When the lads flew out to Spain they shared the plane with members of the senior citizens society from which town?

Question 11, In the episode ‘Who Won The War Anyway’ Neville found an unexploded bomb on the building site while watching which recreational activity?

Question 12, Dennis and Oz had a fight in a bar over Dennis seeing Dagmar which led to Oz going to hospital. Who else was involved on the side of Dennis?

Question 13, In the episode called ‘Majorie Doesn’t Live Here Anymore’ what was the name of the new man in Marjorie Osbourne’s life who was taking her and Oz's son Rod to live in Italy?

Question 14, Joe Fagins recording of ‘Thats Living All Right’ the theme song from the first series reached which position in the UK singles chart in early 1984?

Question 15, In the final episode of the first series Barry and Hazel get married on who's yacht?

Question 16, Who wrote two episodes in the 1st series including the last one and four episodes in the 2nd series including three of the stories set at Thornley Manor?

I have copied them from another AWP group I am the moderator in. At the time there was a lot of discussion about the poor wording of some of the questions.

“And that was all the questions posed...some mistakes wasn’t there like in question 11, Neville wasn’t watching football he was having a kick around of footy with himself also in question 12 the question was asked wrongly making out that Den and Oz were fighting each other the correct phrasing of this question should have been.....Dennis and Oz got into a fight in a bar with some Germans over Dennis seeing Dagmar which led to Oz going to hospital who else was involved on the side of the lads......And for me the worst and most unforgivable mistake was in question 15, it asks on who's yacht did Barry and Hazel get married on at the end of series
one.....erm i think that should be series two.”

Bit quiet there at the moment so it is good to see a lively AWP group. I used to pose Mastermind questions to the group back in 2003. These can still be viewed by doing a search for Mastermind.
