Actually wrote:There wouldn't be any need for Dennis to go searching for a phone box while they're in Derbyshire, he could just phone Ally Fraser on his mobile from the pub or the Manor and do business with him there.

While, in Marjorie Doesn't Live Here Any More, Barry might not need to trawl through the streets looking for an unvandalised public phone, again he could just call Dennis or Neville from wherever he was. Indeed, it might not even be necessary for it to come to that because, while it wouldn't really have been possible at the time for Dennis, Oz, or anyone else to contact Barry while he was on the train heading for Newcastle and warn him that Oz's family had moved out of their old flat, nowadays one of them could just call him while he was still travelling on the train and make alternative arrangements well before he even got to the station.

Or, when they're driving around in Spain looking for Fraser's villa, Dennis could perhaps phone him from the vehicle and say eg "We're having trouble finding the villa, could you give us some extra directions?"
Or he could use the Sat Nav!

Oz: "How often do these CDs get changed?"
Pringle: "That's up to the brewery, nothing to do with me."
Oz: Well, the man at the brewery must bloody love One Direction!"

Nev wouldn't have driven the Jag back from the pub in Return of the Seven; they'd have had to get taxis back to Barry's instead, seeing as they'd all have had a drink or five.

Tracy: Do you like Katy Perry, Wayne?
Wayne: Like's putting it mildly. Her records are shit, though...

It is interesting to note that the cars driven by the lads in Series 3 and 4 (Barry excluded) were roughly a similar age to the ones used in Series 1 and 2 (10-15 years old on average). Yet they don't look half as clapped out!

It is difficult to age Wayne's BMW because of the non UK registration but it wasn't brand new as it looked to me like the previous generation (E12) rather than (E21) which means it was 4 years old minimum.

good point that Barry, show's how much build quality of car's improved between the late 1960's and mid 1990's ish, i agree on Wayne's BMW i would put it as a Late 70's/Early 80's E12 520i
