Anyone else noticed this
Great comedy dont get me wrong but if watch both programmes closely there a few lines that are in porridge also in auf pet
When somone steals fletchers tin of pineapple chunks he says to godber " I know you didn't take them son godber how you know that fletcher when you were in the shower I went through everybody's gear
Same line is used by oz when speaking to Dennis at the bar in suspicion
There are a few others typical can't think of them now

Both written by Clement & Frenais so bound to be similarities. 'Porridge' is another of my favourites, actually.

Porridge is another favourite of mine, it's another show that I've got the complete box set of, shame there wasn't more episodes.
The word 'naffin' is used a lot in Porridge and can be heard a few times in AWP. It's not a word I've heard used anywhere else. Clement and La Frenais used the word in Porridge in place of swear words.

I saw the repeats of Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads on BBC Four over the summer (they haven't repeated series 2 for some reason), and there was a few bits of dialogue in there that cropped up on Pet, like the phrase 'jammy Arab'.

Billy Connolly did the "fart in a spacesuit" line about five years before Oz said it. I wonder if Dick and Ian worked with Billy or they just liked the line and used it.
