Saturday Evening Rules and More Information.
Hello folks,
As the Sunday for Sammy fundraising 'Auf Wiedersehen, Pet' 30th
Anniversary 'Brickies Banquet' approaches in less than a week on
Saturday 21st September we're letting you know a few details, house
rules and options to consider.
The doors will open to your drinks reception at 7pm and your call to
dinner will be 7.45pm. The drinks reception will take place in the
foyer of the venue and there will be a good deal of 'Auf Wiedersehen,
Pet' memorabilia to check out as well as taking a peek at some
wonderful raffle prizes.
The dress code is smart/casual, basically best bib and tucker, please
no jeans or trainers........as if you would! Dont forget to bring
your confirmation ticket with you unless you chose another option.
If you or anyone in your party has any dietary or access requirements,
could you please e-mail our event organisers Made to Treasure on
sales@madetotreasure.co.uk with AWP requirements marked in the
subject field.
Similarly, if you've booked tickets individually and would like to sit
with your mates, then please do the same. They can't guarantee to get
you sitting together, but will do their best to accommodate, they're
nice like that!
All emails need to be received by 3pm Monday 16th September, anything
after that and we can't guarantee your requirements, sorry.
If you're booking taxis to take you home then, as a very rough guide,
we expect the evening to be coming to an end around midnight....don't
quote us on this, anything can happen!
If you require any information or assistance during the evening our
crew, wearing hi-vis building site 'Auf Wiedersehen, Pet' branded
jackets, will be on hand to help.
This next bit is very important and we would appreciate your understanding:
The 'Brickies Banquet' event is being filmed for inclusion in a Sunday
for Sammy
fundraising DVD. The production team is headed by award winning
director of 'The Tube' and 'The Beatles Anthology' Geoff Wonfor who is
responsible for the Sunday for Sammy concert DVD's.
Members of the audience may be caught on camera from time to time and
could be visible in the finished production. By attending this event
the audience accepts that they will not be entitled to any payment for
their possible appearance in the finished production.
Please make sure all mobile phones are switched off, refrain from
taking any photographs or moving around the room during filming, there
will be announcements to alert you to toilet breaks.
Our celebrity guests are here to meet up with old friends and to have
a good night out so please don't approach any of them during the
filming, there may be an opportunity for autographs etc in the bar
later.
The event is totally sold out so if you cannot make it then we will
happily take any return tickets as there is a list as long as Oz's arm
of folk waiting for returns. Contact info@tyneidols.com
So, with all that taken care of all that remains is for us to say that
we look forward to welcoming you to a very special evening on Tyneside
which, in true Sunday for Sammy style, will be full of treats and
surprises.
Any more queries don't hesitate to mail info@tyneidols.com

Re: Saturday Evening Rules and More Information.
Doesn't fill me with confidence reading all that.
I thought it was billed as meeting the stars of the show, sounds like us working class gadgies are going to be in 'cattle class' and if we catch a glimpse of them it'll be a bonus.
Also says 'there may be a chance for autographs later.'
I'm feeling a tad pessimistic aboot all this, only Tim Healy and Melanie Hill confirmed, nee walking, nee talking, nee nowt.

Re: Saturday Evening Rules and More Information.
it does seem a tad 'strict' considering we're paying £75 a ticket!
However, like all these sort of things, a set of rules (or guidelines) have to be in place. But I think it'll be a bit more laid back than Lee's post makes out. I'm sure the stars will want to mingle a bit with us commoners.
I just think it's something the organisers have had to put out there. I don't think it's gonna quite be as bad as it sounds on the night
Fingers crossed for good times anyweays. All other conventions have plenty of meet and greet stuff. Should be good. Stay positive

Only this bit is worrying really. Sounds like we're not wanted thereAuf Wiedersehen, Pet wrote:

Just let me say, I didn't write this, I am simply 'Copying & Pasting' the Email sent out by Tyne Idols.

Re: Saturday Evening Rules and More Information.
Of course, Lee. That's what I figured. So how does it sound to you?

Re: Saturday Evening Rules and More Information.
Well, I know whats planned and whats happening, so it makes perect sense to me.
I have to be tight lipped for the next week, sadly.
Let me just also say I have been tight lipped about this all year, and don't really like having to keep secrets and not tell fans, as I have always shared information straight away before. I have so much information to add to this site, at least another 2 years of stuff!!!

Aye, must be a pain. Anyways, I reckon it'll be awesome on the night.
I just think that the 'rules statement' is poorly worded to be honest.
Always the same wi gaffers. Power trip, innit?

Re: Saturday Evening Rules and More Information.
It does make some sense though. They don't want 500 fans diving for Tim Healy all willy-nilly
The man'll freak out!
That's better worded

Re: Saturday Evening Rules and More Information.
One thing we all want Im sure after waiting 30 years is a photo with the cast members, writers etc plus autographs. Im sure if its all done in an orderly fashion for us to queue up it will be fine. We don't all want to go in ''mob handed'' as Wayne would say.

Totally agree there. Also must be frustrating for our gaffer remaining tight-lipped regarding what's going to be gan on.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With regards to the above... I don't care who they are, or the reputation...
Anyone of them sits on my stool in the bar and they'll know about it !!!!
The evening event is sold out according to the email... What's the capacity
On the night then ?

Re: Saturday Evening Rules and More Information.
What are ya talking aboot? Your stool? Are you trying to tell us you bring a stool to the convention? Ya get to ya door with ya stool under your arm and say, "I'm just popping to the convention, pet. With me stool?"
