Aye, I had to hang them on the wall right, because I don't have a mantelpiece

Canny that. Mine's at the top of the stairs so you see it as soon as you walk through the front door.

I've also got a framed selection of pictures that I cut out of the Sunday Sun (local North East Sunday newspaper) on the morning after the banquet. That's on the landing as you head towards the bog, so I see it as soon as I walk out of my bedroom door in the moning.

I think the posters should have had the website link on them as well as maybe the logos for the sponsors..

I now have 15 signatures of cast and writers, including all of the original 7, after the convention in my collection.

Saturday 21 Sep 2013 (Part One)

I woke up with a dizzy head. This was not helped by a rising smell of old lamb from me bedside. I went back to kip and woke again. A few coughs and many tossings and turnings later, I awoke properly. What the hell did I do last night? What could I remember? Faces, times, places. Pre tea time that was fine, memory-wise. But at pub o'clock, I was lacking.

Well, I was in no shape to go for a full English, esp as I had the remains of a mixed kebab to tackle. Which I gobbled down with great gusto. And felt rather poorly about soon after. Good job the Hilton stocked some nice bog roll. Wor Norma had gone for a fag on the balcony, so the savage munching of diced lamb was done swiftly. Although the £3.95 bottle of water remained untouched, the cold bathroom tap took a right hammering :)

I had a peek out of the window and saw a low-loader dropping off a few JCB's (If you work in an office, you may need help with that last sentence). I text Lee to ask if they were for us. “Might be” was his teasing reply.

So, I piled up the take-away boxes on the bin (I'm gonna say at this point, I'm a very tidy hotel customer. I don't even drink tea or coffee so that is never touched (Score for the chambermaids!). Do I need another ')' here or more than that? Anyway, here's some: )))), and when Norma came back, we headed out.

We walked across the Tyne Bridge again and headed into town. The architecture and shops were pretty much like Hull, but it was so much bigger! Via Norma's phone we found the Cinema, which was nice to know so we knew where we had to be at 2pm. Anyway, we reached the edge of Newcastle, and before we dropped off it, we searched again, using wor Norma's handy receptacle, for a Wetherspoons pub. Okay, not my first choice, but what can you do.

After a quick search we couldn't find one. So the phone went in her bag. But then we looked up and found we were stood outside a Wetherspoons! Oh Joy.

So, around 11am (maybe a little later) the first beers of the day were ordered. Then another couple, and another couple and then Peng....

Peng50. He of Ellesmere Port no less (Well known in my despatch dept.) text to say he was at Arch 16 and no-one was there. Down went the Abbot Ale and Lager and Lime (guess), and off we went. Norma had a stitch as we zoomed through Newcastle city center to get to Peng.

About 15 mins later (Told you Newcastle was big), Peng was greeted by a sweaty, red, Auf Pet fan. And joining Andy H was me and wor Norma! (Just joking, Andy, you were a picture of health, unlike us two!).

Andy was a gent although I didn't see him much over the rest of the weekend. Me and Peng had a right old rabbit. Boss lad. We all stood outside Arch and necked our drinks and before long Lee, Tim et al arrived. “Desperate looking bunch” was the comment that met them. I like to think it was from me, but am not too sure now! So we all chatted and then I noticed AlreetPal. “You're new!” I said as he said hello. Again, another top chap.

So, me, Norma, Peng and Andy walked onto the cinema as the other lazy bastards got a cab. Across the bridge we went again. I do like it, but not THAT much, man! And on we went to the cinema....

...

Next up: Lee getting 'Fart in an Astronaut' into a question, how Wor Norma spent £16+ on beer during a 50 minute ep of Pet and what Hazel Redfearn said to me about that Sharpie...
