I thought it would be a laugh, me.
How I long for good old England again.

Ah, it's no fun out here in Turkey. It's a pity as I thought the experience of living in another country would be like it would in "Auf Pet". God only knows what Oz would've made of all this.

Re: Living abroad isn't all it's cracked up to be
Its a tough change, but if you stick it out it gets better.
I was in Spain for 10 years, with the first couple being very hard, but doable.
What made it better for me was having friends move a few months before, so knowing they were there was a huge help. As of today, 90% of the people I got to know are now back in the UK or elsewhere. Funny old world innit?

Well, I do tend to get dizzy spells since I first moved out here. Mind you, a few of the ex-pats have fallen victim to a virus doing the rounds.AWP Corsa Tim wrote:I always heard Turkey was a bit iffy... is it??
On one instance; when you use the bog, you need to put your tissue papers in a specially made bin.AlreetPal wrote:Should imagine it is, Abdul's are unclean in their habits.

Re: Living abroad isn't all it's cracked up to be
An update on my position. I really am now enjoying where I am in Turkey to the point where I now can't drink a pint of English ale instead of their own brand of beer. Plus, the country has so many sights and pleasures to offer. Guess I didn't look hard enough before...

Nice one chief! It's tough, everyone thinks it's a piece of piss, it's just like the UK, you have bills to pay and the same day to day shite to put up with. The only difference is the weather!
