Strange Scenes.

Post by Auf Wiedersehen, Pet » Tue Jul 15, 2014 9:39 pm

Watching Norma hunting round the house for a pen in ROTS is just a really strange scene.
It lasts for knocking on a minute, Norma pulling her bag to bits, opening draws, finally stumbling on what looks like a crayon.

Now, don't get me wrong, I love how shows used to be so real, small scenes like this make Pet, but surely when editing it they must have thought of chopping it out?.

Anymore scenes that are 'Strange'?

Na man, disagree on that one. The Norma scene is just so typical and true in households around the world, even Newcastle. I love it because ya gotta imagine Ally on the other end of the phone, in Spain crying out 'oh for god's sake' and such like. Norma gets to fart Ally Fraser around without even knowing it. Thats why I love that scene so much and why Im sure it wasnt sent to the cutting room floor. Porfavoor ?!

It's one thing arranging a reunion, but did you have to recreate the threads we once posted in?

Couldn't agree more. Pointless scene to be honest and I'm surprised it made the edit. I wonder if the deleted scenes will ever be available, probably not is my guess, as the 30 th anniversary would have been an opportunity to re-release the dvd's with extras like that added.
Shut ya yak will ya man, you snivelling little git.

I always found the one with Neville and the German father talking about world war 2 strange, or just boring to be honest

I always wondered why none of the other lads pulled him up about that. Who would he know called Dick that would phone him at a hotel in Spain?

Maybe it was Dick Clement?

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone...

I guess its the 80's, and scenes such as that were just the norm. I cannot for one minute ever see that happening again. Lets say this scene was put into a modern show, people would be like, 'Whats gan on?....'

Aye, you're right there. Let it go to voicemail and he can leave a message.

Or how about a thread called 'Scene Reversal' and instead of Vicky answering the door with next to nothing on, we could have Norma sprawled out on her couch in a bra and knickers and just a flimsy lacy top on, the phone rings and....."Christ who's that?!....."

Or not. :(

Also, she needs that pen just to write down one time and day? Wor Norma made a good fry up (even with that bread with the bits in) but she had a memory like a sieve!
