Martin McKeand Series Producer Interview
Last month we caught up with Martin McKeand.
He has been an absolute gentleman in answering some questions we put to him.
I still get excited reading back his answers, and 33 years later we are still learning new stuff!
We have split the interview into 2 parts.
Part One: http://www.awpet.com/martinmckeand
Part Two: http://www.awpet.com/martinmckeand2
Enjoy.
If you'd like to know anything and have got the juices flowing please post your question below, we might return....

Re: Martin McKeand Series Producer Interview
There's a scene in one episode where a very young Gina McKee (in what may have been her first TV role ?) has a scene with Gary - the two-shots of Gary are for real, the two-shots featuring Gina are with a body double filmed weeks later from behind
I didn't know that. People often mention the body double in "a few scenes" and I've often wondered where else it happens other than the casino.
Also interesting that he didn't bother watching the new series

Great topic! - at the beginning of "A law for the rich" check out the raised camera shot of Wayne's BMW on the Motorway heading to Thornley Manor with Bomber and Moxey as passengers, the driver doesn't appear to be Gary! Be interesting to read other fan's opinions.

I checked the scene with Gina McKee. They might have used a body double for some shots but none of them made the final edit - there's no body double in that scene. Maybe there's one in the car, which would explain why that little bit is so odd and we're not given any shot of Wayne's reaction to being dumped

Re: Martin McKeand Series Producer Interview
You've beat me to this.
I watched this a few days back and can only assume the following. This scene must have been filmed close to Gary dying and Gary died before the ending of the scene could be filmed. Having realised this, the crew must have then gone for an outside shot of Gary in his car, as the viewers wouldn't be able to see him close up? That's my theory.

Re: Martin McKeand Series Producer Interview
Agreed. The script might well have included a scene inside the car that they had to scrap. However, Martin does state they filmed some two-shots with Gina and a body double, but they're not in the final edit

It's a strange one and got me thinking. Sadly at the moment at least, we haven't got a detailed script of this scene.
