Re: Double Decker Bus - RCU 481S
Metro - Scania
It would seem RCU 481S was 1 of 150 operated by Tyne & Wear Transport
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scania_Metropolitan
It does say some went on to be preserved, maybe just maybe its still out there somewhere

Re: Double Decker Bus - RCU 481S
Found the correct listing on DVLA.It was taken out of service and has not been taxed since 1993.It has either been sorn (off road declaration) or scrapped. If it was preserved it would likely to have been preserved in a running condition taxed etc. See attached. It's not on the insurance database either.I don't think it is tax exempt as i think it is for pre 1975 vehicles? The insurance database is not conclusive as vehicles at my last workplace were not on there (block insurance policy).I think it was listed under MCW.

Re: Double Decker Bus - RCU 481S
If you think about it you can check out any vehicle from any tv show/film.(UK) but to be honest not all cars used carry the actual registered number plate. It does require you to know the reg and the make.for the tax check the insurance check just needs the reg. There is a lot of useful information on the internet. On one of the forums i go on a one member's caviler was used in the last episode of ashes to ashes.blakey wrote:Awesome info

Re: Double Decker Bus - RCU 481S
The number plates of the bedford ha van and the jeep don't exist on the database possibly transfered to a different vehicle.or where not genuine? If they were scrapped there would still be a record? So proberbly transfered to another vehicle. Not sure about the bmw?

I've asked the person who found me the pic on Facebook if there's a way to track its history......
