The Barley Mow, 1986 to present day.

I can be pretty sure that every Auf Wiedersehen, Pet recognises this as The Barley Mow from the second series of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, I mean who could forget Happy Harry the Wing Co! The Barley Mow, or The Windmill as it is known in the real world, has seen a couple of changes over the years, but is still a fantastic location for all Auf Wiedersehen, Pet fans to visit, and have a bite to eat, (that sandwich, its after 2) and a pint of bitter. Here are a several pictures of The Barley Mow over the years, so you can see how its changed. When I first started tracking down Auf Wiedersehen, Pet locations, this was one of the first I visited in 1995. At the time, I didn’t know that filming wasn’t done inside the pub, having a drink but staying in the lounge, because I was a bit overdressed. If you visit The Windmill, you can still see a couple of pictures on the wall, from when filming took place in the summer of 1985. There has been a great discussion on whether the inside of The Windmill was used for filming. Copyright: The following images are copyright Gary Basford, Gary King, ITV Studios and awpet.com.
