Auf Wiedersehen, Pet 1983 - 2024
Hamburg, Düsseldorf and London are featured. Many of you might already know this, but Hamburg was used many times on screen as Düsseldorf, and also London used as Newcastle. The Beco building site which we saw most of on screen, was actually in Elstree, Hertfordshire, where the EastEnders outdoor set of Walford now stands, with only a handful of scenes actually being shot on a building site in Hamburg.

Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Newcastle & Marbella. Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Newcastle are just some of the locations used for the second series. As you know, what we see on screen is not always the truth, and series 2 used a lot of camera magic. Nottinghamshire was used on screen for Newcastle and Wolverhampton. Several locations have now been demolished such as Moxey’s Transport Cafe.
Middlesbrough, Newcastle, London and Arizona. Middlesbrough, Newcastle, London and Lake Powell, Arizona are just some of the locations used in the 2002 revival series of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. London was the main base for filming of series 3, with areas of Hertfordshire being used as on screen locations for Newcastle and Wolverhampton. Middlesbrough was heavily used including the Transporter Bridge.
London and the Dominican Republic. London and The Dominican Republic are some of the locations used in series 4 Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. Cuba was the on screen setting for series 4 of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. The Dominican Republic had to be used however, when permission was not granted. London locations were also used for Newcastle on screen.
London and Thailand. Thailand was one of the main locations used for filming of the final 2 episodes. Filming also took place in Bangkok, and also at a Premier Inn in Sunbury on Thames, England.
