Filming Locations Series 2

Series 2 is the largest collection of locations, mostly down to the fact that many of the locations are in the Midlands. Series 2 was based at Central Television Studios at Lenton Lane, Nottingham. The location scouts didn’t have to travel very far to find a wide range of locations they could use for Series 2. Newcastle locations on screen were mostly filmed in the Nottinghamshire area, except for those needed to make sure that Newcastle landmarks were in the shots. Note: Many of these locations are private property. Please be responsible and do not trespass.

Locations - Nottinghamshire. Extras - Location Videos TV Listing - TV Times February 15th 1986 The first episode of Series 2, was mainly shot on location in Nottingham, with Barry’s house in Wolverhampton on screen, also being in Nottingham. The scene featuring Oz and Barry in The Falklands was filmed in Derbyshire somewhere, according to director Roger Bamford and Central Crew member Colin Russell.

Series 2 - Episode 1 The Return Of The Seven

Locations - Beeston, Nottinghamshire, Wallsend, Newcastle. Extras - Location Videos TV Listing - TV Times February 22nd 1986 The second episode of Series 2, and filmed once again in many of the same areas as episode 1. This episodes does feature a couple of locations set in Newcastle and actually filmed in Newcastle.

Series 2 - Episode 2 The Return Of The Seven Part 2

Locations - Trowell Services on the M1 and Caunton, Nottinghamshire. Extras - Location Videos TV Listing - The lads are off on their greatest adventure in deepest Derbyshire. Strangely, Derbyshire only featured a couple of times during Series 2. This episode features some of the most memorable buildings including Thornely Manor, The Cross Keys and The Barley Mow.

Locations - Knipton and nearby locations. Extras - Location Videos TV Listing - TV Times March 8th 1986 The very picturesque village of Knipton features in this episode, as well as the Clifton Bridge Roadside Cafe, which until early 2015 was still standing. Sadly that has now been demolished, but we have a full location video featuring the interior and exterior, when it was open, closed and during the demolition.

Locations - Woolsthorpe, Redmile, West Bridgford and Stanford on Soar. Extras - Location Videos TV Listing - TV Times March 15th 1986 This episode from Series 2 is a fan favourite for many reasons, and features many locations you can still visit today. The ASDA in West Bridgford is still there, St Peters Church in Redmile and St John The Baptist Church in Stanford on Soar.

Locations - Knipton, Lincolnshire. Extras - Location Videos TV Listing - Harry’s Country & Western boozer as featured in this episode. This location took a few months to find, but we got there eventually!

Locations - Bingham, Knipton and Newcastle. Extras - Location Videos TV Listing - TV Times March 29th 1986 ‘No Sex Please We;re Brickies’ features several locations in the Midlands, and one in Newcastle for this episode.

Locations - Nottinghamshire and Newcastle Upon Tyne Extras - Location Videos TV Listing - The most watched episode ever clocking a very impressive 16 million viewers. Many of the location shots were filmed in Newcastle, except for a couple filmed in Beeston and Oz’s flat which was both Newcastle and Nottinghamshire.

Series 2 - Episode 8 Marjorie Doesn’t Live Here Anymore

Locations - Nottingham. Extras - Location Videos TV Listing - TV Times April 12th 1986 A couple of extra locations filmed in Nottinghamshire, such as the clothes shop the lads head off to to grab some designer gear before heading off to the sun!

Locations - Fuengirola & Marbella Spain TV Listing - The lads are off to Spain, and we get lots of locations dotted around the Costa Del Sol. From Fuengirola to Istan and Puerto Banus and of course Marbella!

Locations - Marbella. TV Listing - The lads have spare time on their hands and head off! Many of the locations were filmed in and just on the outskirts of Marbella.

Locations - San Pedro De Alcantara and Puerto Banus. TV Listing - A couple of locations such as the tile shop at the beginning of the episode and the bar where the lads meet Prince Stefano.
