Fans
Fans
are
one
of
the
biggest
parts
of
the
site,
you’re
probably
a
fan
reading
this
right
now.
We
couldn’t
build
this
site
without
you,
and
so
many
of
you
have
contributed
to
make
this
Fansite
what
it
is.
At
the
2013
Convention
in
Newcastle,
both
Franc
Roddam
and
Ian
La
Frenais
remarked
on
how
only
‘Fans’
could
build
such
an
in-depth
and
loved
site.
I
have
a
lot
of
‘Fans’
to
thank
for
contributing, many of whom have a Fan page below.

Tim Wagstaff
Tim has been a leading contributer to the site since we began in 2012.
Tim’s Auf Wiedersehen, Pet location videos which feature Thornely Manor, The Barley Mow, The Trout Stream, Sir James’ House,
Central Studios and his latest video which features locations in Newcastle.
These videos are full of locations from Series 2, and a treat for those fans who cannot visit the locations.
Richard Hill
The ‘Fan’ that started it all!
I am sure Richard Hill is a name Auf Wiedersehen, Pet fans will recognise, mainly due to the fact that Richard and his co star Stephen
are responsible for the earliest, Auf Wiedersehen, Pet location videos posted online. Richard’s videos have racked up more than
35,000 views on You Tube.
Lee Briggs
Lee Briggs is an Auf Wiedersehen, Pet fan who has been up and down the country, hunting down and finding locations used in
Series 2 and 3 of the show. From the bus stop used by The Ghost, to The Captain Cook pub used in Series 3.
On the 28th October 2012, Tony McGrath visited Beesthorpe Hall aka Thornley Manor for what could be the last time.
Tony got some of the last pictures before a new owner moved in to the Hall in late 2012.
Chris McVeigh and the not too camera shy “Fred”, have visited a few locations used in Series 2 of the show. From The Cross Keys, to
The Barley Mow and a few more.
Gary Basford, has sent in these fantastic pictures of Beesthorpe Hall aka Thornley Manor and The Windmill aka The Barley Mow
from 1986, just months after filming took place. With these pictures, Gary helped settle an argument that had puzzled many Auf
Wiedersehen, Pet fans for years, ‘was The Windmill used for the interior shots we see on screen?...’ The answer, no.
Brian and Paul Logue have visited many of the locations which have featured in series 2. From Thornley Manor to The Barley Mow,
and many more.
Andy Patrick was given these pictures by a local resident, who took them whilst filming was taking place in 1985. Some of the
pictures are from the ‘Another Country’ episode.
Andy is also responsible for the in depth Beco Building Site Guide, which you can view here.
Dale Hanson and his father, visited many of the locations used in Series 2 of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. From Ally Frasers ‘Scanda
Sauna’ location to The Barley Mow, and many more. Dale has also visited a couple of locations as featured in Series 1, and
contributes regularly to the Fansite.
Micheal Cottrill a fan of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet has been visiting the locations featured in Series 2. From Thornley Manor, to the Bus
Stop used by the Ghost in Series 2.
Phil and Lee Clements went one step further when visiting Beesthorpe Hall as used in Series 2 as Thornely Manor, they actually
worked on it! When visiting the manor, the decided that they could repay Mrs Matthews generosity by helping out around the Hall.
Philip Yare and a bunch of his friends visited Dusseldorf, and decided to take in a few of the locations used in Series 1. From the bar
we see in ‘When The Boat Goes Out’ to the spot we see Oz skipping happily in ‘The Lovers’.
Steve Turner visited Beesthorpe Hall back in 2006, and has some of the only pictures we have seen from round the back of Barry’s
House in Beeston.
Oh, and yes that is Big Baz!
Shirley and Alistair Pollard have added something very unique to the world of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. Shane Spall, wife of Tim, has
even commented on Twitter about how fantastic Shirley’s creations are! Alistair made some very unique one off items for the 2014
Fan Gathering.
Make sure you keep an eye on the Forum for her latest creations going on sale!
Paul Waine has visited some of the locations as seen in the Spanish episodes from Series 2. Many of these locations have changed
over the years, but with many of the older buildings still making it possible to make out the original filming spots.
