In 2002, the Tees Transporter Bridge in Middlesbrough was making the news in a big way. When featured in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet and seeing the lads taking it down, many actually believed it was being removed and located to Arizona. We know now that wasn’t the case, but many members of the public believed it to be real. Thanks to the Transporter Bridge we have an actual letter written by a viewer asking what was happening to the bridge.
