Thornely Manor Door.

Now, this is an odd one, but the front door of Thornely Manor has turned up. Now for those of you who don’t know, the front door as we see it on screen such as in the screen cap below, was made especially for filming. For those of you who have visited Beesthorpe Hall, you will know that it is square, and not an arched top. The door used in the show, was made for filming, and now it has turned up on another building. Now, I don’t know about you, but I just had to know how the front door of Thornely Manor, got to be on this barn a couple of miles down the road, which you can see in the image below. I Emailed the owner of Beesthorpe Hall, hoping they could shed a little light on this mystery, and thankfully, Colin was able to clear the situation up.“The door was left behind when filming finished and was languishing in a garage.  My brother in law, who is a builder was doing the barn conversion in Averham and he and the owner thought it might be nice to incorporate it - which is what happened!” Mystery Solved! Update 2021: The door is now owned by Daniel Lancaster and is no longer on the house in Averham. Many thanks to Colin Matthews previous owner of Beesthorpe Hall.
