Q1. How did you get the part in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet? Was it a part you approached? A. It was my first ever acting job. I spoke German and they auditioned me and voila.( That's French) Honestly? I think they saw me as I still worked at the Raymond Revuebar. You know, "Let's inteview the stripper. Oh she speaks!" I had to moonlight the job and when I went on location, my dad, who was not a fan of my Revuebar job but was very practical, took my sick note into the office himself. Q2. The first series is a huge fan favourite and The Accused the episode you starred in, is one of the more serious episodes of Series 1. Did you know when filming the episode that the series would be as big as it still is? A. No idea at all! I was just happy to get a break in acting with such a great crew and fantastic actors. Q3. Do you remember the locations used, were they in Germany or in the UK? A. We filmed interiors and the building site at the studio at Borehamwood and exteriors and the bar scene in Hamburg, Germany. Q4. Did you have fun filming scenes with Kevin Whately and the rest of the cast, do you have any funny memories of filming? A. Um yes.. we had ridiculous fun with that cast in Hamburg! All our bills were picked up except for alcohol. I thought that was odd but fully understood after I had been in Hamburg  a few days! And there were scams I can't tell you about...in fact I am zipping up right now! And it wasn't funny at all, but did add to the atmosphere that some Hell's Angels threw someone through a plate glass window of a bar we were filming next to. He was ok, thankfully but it was hard to get my head back into acting. I had to film the scene with Kevin and where my boyfriend turns up before he attacks me, next. Q5. Overall did you meet anymore of the cast members, or just the ones you did the scene with? A. I met everyone. Tim Spall and his wife Shane are brilliant. I love them. I haven't seen them for ages- I live in the States now, but when we were working I used to travel up on the train with him and he was so encouraging and sweet to me. Brilliant mind, him and his wife. And I am still friends with Christine Garner and Francesco Reidy ( he was 1st AD, I think) who are married now. Jimmy Nail was excellent fun but it could lead to dancing...Kevin, Chris, Pat Roach...Everyone on the team was great. Roger Bamford is a cuddly bear. Q6. Did you film any shots that didn't make it on screen? A. Yes... there was a whole kissing Kevin scene and the angry boyfriend turning up and seeing it. I think that vanished with the Hell's Angels. Q7. Do you have any behind the scenes pictures you can share with the fans? A. OH yes I dooooooo. Give me a minute to dig them out... Q8. How hard was it to get the German accent right, did you have any help from any German crew members? A. Did I get it right? I hate hearing myself. I remember thinking, "Keep it subtle, Vix." I think it's harder to do accents than speak the language, sometimes. And with scripts they can make the foreigner very articulate but still want a heavy accent. It's a balance. I played many dodgy accents in my time. Q9. Did you use any of the experience from Auf Wiedersehen, Pet to act in more TV shows or films? A. Yes, I went over the road and did Reilly Ace of Spies right after. I did TV for several years, exotic foreigners mostly, The Monocled Mutineer, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. I went to RADA afterwards and when I came out I did mainly theatre. Q10. Do you still act? A. No. I moved to Hollywood and retired. I write now, ( novels. watch this space) and still do occasional voiceovers. Anime mostly. I just finished Helsing- an amazing anime series that I first worked on thirteen years ago. We did it twice over, TV and Video. Longest job I ever had, Lord Integra Wingates Helsing. Q11. What is next for Victoria? A. Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz? Who knows. I am currently working on two things. The first is called Cyprus Summer 1974....briefly I wrote a diary while in Cyprus ( my home) during the war of 1974 and I am blowing it up and exhibiting it in a space on the Green Line in Nicosia Cyprus this July. It's the 40th year since the war and the island is still divided. And it has led to more ...there's a dance piece based on it that I am supporting.
