We are all one big family of brothers and sisters and that was echoed with how the night went. Very emotional, nostalgic and heartwarming. Absolutely Top rank team effort by all involved I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I have worked in Newcastle off and on over the years and that is always a joy for me making friends with some of the Geordie mafia and my son has business there now and got many Geordie friends, so the love of the toon has been handed down. Thanks to everyone who made it such a beautiful, brilliant and emotional night.” Stu Roberts “There is no other show like it, and never will anything like it be created in the future. Great questions and answers and some things I didn't know and of course Jimmy nail can still knock it out the park with his voice and the women give it 6 nout as well, it was magic. But it was nice to have a mixture of songs that actually meant something to the cast and other people and great tributes for Pat and Gary and all those who have passed on. It's wonderful that such a program and two great charities can bring so many people together from far and wide. So finally, a huge thank you to YOU! Thanks to the guys I met in the queue, top blokes as you would expect. Here are some pics from the very hot but wonderful night, we'll meet again! Ps. Also a pic of the gaffer I saw at Close House where I was staying. “Well done guys, it was truly a day/night to remember for the rest of our lives. The big river was tears of happiness, sadness and love for the show.” Raymond McLean “Fantastic weekend, you did us all proud. What a show it was!” John Featherstone “Absolutely fantastic night. Well done to the team for putting on an incredible spectacle of fun, inside info and nostalgia. The ladies definitely stole the show. It was the ‘bollocks’!” Dan Wilson “Well done lads. Honestly what a cracking show.” Steve Wraith “It's well deserved. The 40th show was superb. What a wonderful ensemble. Done all of us fans proud. And it will be remembered for a long time to come. Auf Pet has it's own meaning for each and every one of us. Holds a place in our collective psyche. That's what made it special. That's what brought us all together. That's what made the show.” From all the characters that turned up and those from behind the scenes really celebrated the show. Hearing his voice on the ‘This Is Your Life’ guessing game was just magic. And him breaking into Barry on his video message, “bostin!”. “The real buzz of the crowd. Met some fantastic friends. And of course, my heroes!!!” Ann Wilson “Had an incredible time at the “Auf Wiedersehen Pet at 40 “ event at the City Hall Newcastle today.! Delighted to have the Auf Wiedersehen Pet 40th Anniversary show supporting FACT Special thanks to our Patron, Jimmy Nail and to all the cast and crew, and fans who donated! Well done and huge thanks to all involved” Joanne Smith “What an incredible night with some incredible people. I laughed, I cried, I sang...the lot. Hadn't seen Jimmy sing since my Mom took me to see him at the Civic in Wolvo when I was 13. I'm sure she was still swooning over him from the big house upstairs . Thanks to everyone who made it such a beautiful, brilliant and emotional night.” Stu Roberts “There is no other show like it, and never will anything like it be created in the future. So so popular after decades. Uniting generations, and reliving the past for so many trades that worked abroad during the late 70's and 80's. Well done to everyone involved ” Steve Brown “Loved every moment fantastic team work by everyone involved” Kathleen Megson “Fantastic night absolutely loved it xxx What a fantastic night we had last night. Well worth the money, especially knowing all profits go to 2 north east charities. Well done everyone involved in the show. A night to remember for ever. Auf Wiedersehen pet everyone” Linda Loney “Well congratulations to 40 years of auf weidersehen pet. What a fantastic night I had. Surprised at some of guests, including Marjorie and Douglas and Big Baz straight into character and of course Christa and a big thank you to Leslie Saint-John for help supporting Lysette at the end. Yes the Auf Wiedersehen Petties , the fans who make events like these possible, thanks for supporting both shows and hope you enjoyed it as much as I did, until the next one, we'll meet again some sunny day.” Martyn Lockey “Thank you, Newcastle, for being so hospitable, had a great time the show was amazing a once in a lifetime experience for me. For those that put so much into organising it and making it so memorable thank you. Now time to embark on the homeward journey with (thoughts from abroad, when the boat goes out).” Simon Ruff “Moving tributes to cast members who have passed away. So glad to of been there after getting last minute tickets. The goosebumps/emotional feelings I got when Jimmy pointed to the screen for 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" when all 7 of them appeared. Something I'll always remember!” George Bennett
